- A person in a position whose normal duties involve
regular contact with people aged under 18 years of age. (Where those duties include
caring for, training, supervising, or being in sole charge of children, an enhanced
disclosure is required).
- A person living at premises where child minding
or daycare services are provided.
- Those applying for adoption.
- Those applying for Foster Caring duties.
People working with vulnerable adults:
- An employment or other work which is concerned
with the provision of care services to vulnerable adults. (An enhanced disclosure
is required for a person who regularly cares for, trains, supervises, or is in
sole charge of vulnerable adults)
- A vulnerable adult is a person over 18 who has a learning or physical disability, a physical or mental illness (including drug or alcohol addiction), or a reduction in physical or mental capacity.
- Health Services Employment

- Nurse, midwife
- Medical Practitioner
- Dentist, dental hygienist, dental auxiliary
- Pharmaceutical chemist
- Ophthalmic optician, dispensing optician
- Psychologist
- Osteopath
- Chiropractor
- Veterinary Surgeon
- Chartered or certified accountant
- Actuary
- Financial Services position
- Barrister or solicitor
- Legal executive
- Receiver (court appointed)
- Judicial Appointment
- Crown Prosecution Service employment
- Justices clerks and assistants
- Clerks and Officers of the Court
- Police constables and cadets
- Employment within prisons and detention centres
- Traffic wardens
- Probation Officers
- Employment in the Serious Fraud Office
- Employment on public works contracts on Local Authority premises.
- Private Security - doormen, wheel clampers, guards, investigators etc.
- Taxi, Private Hire, and PSV Licensed drivers.
- National Security - (airside at airports for example).
- Employment in HM Customs and Excise.
- Football Stewards.
- An occupation in an establishment which requires a Gaming Board licence.
- Firearms Dealer.
