Section 128 Check
The Section 128 check checks the names of individuals who have been barred from taking part in the management of any independent school, under the terms of a direction made by the Secretary of State for Education. A person who is prohibited is unable to participate in any management of an independent school such as: a management position in an independent school, academy or free school as an employee; a trustee of an academy or free school trust; a governor or member of a proprietor body for an independent school; or a governor on any governing body in an independent school, academy or free school that retains or has been delegated any management responsibilities.

- Education Recruitment/Agency companies
APCS provide a certificate to indicate the check has been completed and you can then enter the dates of the check on your single central record (SCR). APCS will then carry out the checks on your behalf.
Price and Turnaround Times
A Section 128 check is £12 (including VAT) and you will receive the result the same day if you order before 2.30pm Monday to Friday. For any orders received after 2.30pm, the results will be issued the next working day. As soon as the checks have been completed, you will receive your results certificate via email.
If you order a Fast Track Section 128 Check you will receive the result within just one hour! There is an additional cost of £2.50 plus VAT for this service.
There are two possible results to a list 99 check:
1). ‘No matching records were found’.
2). If there is a match we will contact you immediately and provide the relevant guidance.
